Estonia-based NUKU theatre has acquired the rights to stage the world-famous whole-family musical Shrek, LETA/Culture.ee reported.

Shrek the Musical is based on the 2001 American computer-animated fantasy comedy film for the whole family, distributed by DreamWorks Pictures.

The film immediately won a lot of popularity and critics were especially delighted by its ability to move both children and adults. Join Shrek and his loyal steed Donkey as they set off on a quest to rescue the beautiful (if slightly temperamental) Princess Fiona. Add the diminutive Lord Farquaad, a gang of fairytale misfits and a biscuit with attitude and you've got this year's must-see new musical comedy – Shrek the Musical.
