Vilnius attracts Anna Karenina filmmakers

In Uzutrakis, situated around 30 Kilometres from Vilnius, an Italian company started shooting drama Anna Karenina, Vilnius Tourist Information Bureau reports.
During 40 days of shooting in Lithuania, the top visited sites in Vilnius, Rumsiskes town and manors are going to be turned into the streets and locations as it was depicted in Lev Tolstoy novel, reports LETA.
Two part film Ana Karenina will be filmed in English. Vittoria Puccini, famous Spanish actress, will star in the role of the leading heroine. The film will also star renowned Spanish actress Angela Molina, Santjago Cabrera and Maxas Von Thunas.
According to Jurate Pazikaite, Vilnius cinema bureau director, the old town has already become Amsterdam, Vingis Park has already been turned into Kuala Lumpur forests and now, during the filming, Vilnius will turn in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
"Foreign filmmakers are often pleased with Lithuanian professionalism. They are satisfied with everything – the competitive prices, diligent cinema industry staff, hotels and catering," she said, Vilnius Tourism Information Bureau said.
