In September, industrial production increased by 0.6% in both the euro area and the EU

In September 2014, compared with September 2013, seasonally adjusted industrial production rose by 1.3% in Latvia, which is the 11th largest increase among all European Union (EU) member states for which data are available, according to estimates from "Eurostat", the statistical office of the EU, cites LETA.

The largest year-on-year industrial production increase was registered in Ireland – 22.1%, the Czech Republic – 5.6%, and Hungary – 5.1%.

 

The largest year-on-year decrease was registered in Malta – 7.4%, Sweden – 4.1%, Greece – 3.5%.

 

Industrial production in Estonia increased by 3.6%, in Lithuania – reduced by 0.5%.


Year-on-year industrial production decreased in a total of 11 countries, but increased in 13.

 

In September, compared with August, seasonally adjusted industrial production increased by 0.6% in both the euro area and the EU.

 

A total of 17 countries registered increases, seven reported reductions.

 

In September, compared to August, industrial production in Latvia increased by 1.3%, which is the ninth largest growth out of all countries.

 

The highest monthly increases in industrial production were registered in Croatia – 4.6%, the Czech Republic – 4.5%, and Ireland – 4.1%.

 

The largest decreases were registered in Denmark – a 5.6% reduction, Portugal – 4.1%, and the Netherlands – 2%.
