The largest September increase in producer prices in EU recorded in Estonia

In September 2014, producer prices in Latvia increased 0.1% from August, according to the latest report released by the EU statistical office Eurostat. The largest monthly increase in producer prices was recorded by Estonia – 1.1%, writes LETA.

Similar to Latvia, producer prices in Belgium, Croatia, Italy, Slovenia and Finland also registered 0.1% increases in producer prices.

 

The largest monthly increase in producer prices was recorded by Estonia – 1.1%, followed by Denmark, Spain, France and the Netherlands – by 0.5% each.

 

Meanwhile, the largest monthly reduction in producer prices was recorded in Great Britain – 0.4%, followed by the Czech Republic – 0.3%, as well as Lithuania, Poland and Portugal – by 0.2% each.

 

Producer prices in Ireland, Germany, Malta, Greece and Sweden remained unchanged in September when compared to August.

 

In all the EU member states for which data are available, producer prices increased 0.1% in September from August, and the eurozone recorded a 0.2% rise.

 

Compared to September 2013, producer prices in the EU decreased 1.6% and in the eurozone 1.4%.

 

In year-on-year comparison, producer prices only increased in Romania, by 0.8%, Latvia – 0.2%, and Greece – 0.1%.

 

The greatest decreases were registered in Lithuania – 5.6%, Belgium – 3.9%, and Slovakia – 3.9%.

 

Producer prices in Estonia decreased 2% year on year.
