Estonia is leading in Prosperity Index among Baltics
Latvia is ranked 42nd and Lithuania 44th.
In 2013, Estonia was 36th, in 2012 – 35th, in 2011 – 33rd, in 2010 – 35th and in 2009 – 31st.
Estonia's best place was state governance, 26th and worst personal freedoms, 70th. The top position in the list belongs to Norway since 2009; next came Switzerland and New Zealand.
Latvia has climbed four positions since last year.

Legatum Prosperity Index lists 142 countries according to eight criteria – economy, entrepreneurship and opportunity, governance, education, health, safety and security, personal freedom, social capital.
Norway is ranked first, followed by Switzerland, New Zealand, Denmark, Canada, Sweden, Australia, Finland, the Netherlands, and the United States.
The last on the list are Central African Republic, followed by Chad, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burundi, and Yemen.
The results of the study are based on 90 indicators which are distributed into 8 groups: economy, conditions for doing business, state governance, education, healthcare, safety, personal freedom and social capital.
