In September, retail trade turnover in Latvia decreased by 0.3%

Data of Central Statistical Bureau show that, compared to August, the total turnover of retail trade enterprises in Latvia in September 2014 dropped by 0.3%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices.

Retail trade in food products reduced by 0.4%, whereas of non-food products – by 0.3%.

 

Compared to August, the total retail trade turnover at current prices, not taking into account seasonality, in September fell by 4.2%.

Compared to September 2013, the total retail trade turnover in September 2014 increased by 3.6%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Rise in food commodity group comprised 3.9%. In non-food commodity group there was a 3.4% increase, of which in retail sale of automotive fuel – 9.8%.

 

In comparison with September of the previous year, total retail trade turnover at current prices rose by 4.0% (not taking into account the calendar influence).

In first nine months, as compared to first nine months of the previous year, retail trade turnover in total has grown by 3.7%, according to calendar adjusted data. Rise in food commodity group comprised 4.4%, but retail trade in non-food products has grown by 3.3%.
