Majority of next Saeima MPs in Latvia are between 41 and 60

With 12th Saeima final and official results finally announced today, which, for example showed that 913,491 voters went to the polls, or 58.85 of the electorate, many other interesting facts can be found in the statistics, informs LETA.

One is that the average age of the recently-elected MPs is 49.1.

 

A significant majority of deputies are between ages 41 to 60, and only four out the 100 are from the "younger generation" – age 25 to 30. The oldest MP is 75. Only 19 out of the 100 are women.

 

97 have graduated university, three – high school. Only one single MP is retired, one is a dual national with a U.S. passport.
