Turnover of retail trade and catering enterprises in Lithuania decreased by 1.1% in August
Over a month, the turnover of enterprises trading in food products decreased by 1.1%, of those engaged in retail trade in automotive fuels – 3.6%, of those engaged in trading in non-food products increased by 0.2% at constant prices. The largest increase in turnover was observed in retail sale of books (63.9%), footwear and leather goods (27.6%) in specialised stores.
In August 2014, against August 2013, the turnover (VAT excluded) of retail trade enterprises increased by 3.6% at constant prices (working day adjusted – 4.7%). The turnover of enterprises trading in food products increased by 1.9, of those engaged in retail trade in automotive fuels – 3.5, of those engaged in retail trade in non-food products – 5.7% at constant prices. The largest increase in turnover was observed in retail sale via mail order houses or via the Internet (35.8%).
In August 2014, the turnover (VAT excluded) of food and beverage service enterprises amounted to LTL 151.9 million and, against July, decreased by 4.6% at constant prices. Compared to August 2013, the turnover of enterprises engaged in the said activities grew by 4.1% at constant prices.
