Estonia's birth rate slightly higher than death rate in August

Print versionAccording to the data of the population facts department of the Estonian Ministry of Internal Affairs, 1,246 births and 1,180 deaths were registered in August 2014 in Estonia, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

23 pairs of twins were born.
The most popular boys’ names in August were Daniel, Martin, Matvei, Rasmus, Johannes, Romet, Kristofer, Robin and Oliver. The most occurring girls’ names were Sandra, Polina, Mirtel, Arina, Eliise, Lisandra and Sofia.
1,103 marriages were concluded and 199 divorces were registered in vital statistics offices.
In August 2013, 1,242 births, 1,113 deaths, 1,053 marriages and 264 divorces were registered.
