Latvia registers lowest proportion of job vacancies in EU in Q2

The proportion of job vacancies in Latvia in the second quarter of 2014 was 0.4% of the total number of job vacancies in Latvia, which is the lowest indicator among all European Union (EU) countries that have provided information about their labor markets, the statistical office of the EU Eurostat reported on Tuesday.

The second lowest proportion of job vacancies in the second quarter of 2014 was registered in Portugal and Spain – 0.6%, followed by Slovenia, Bulgaria, and Ireland – 0.7%, informs LETA.

 

Lithuania, Romania, and Slovakia registered 0.9% in the proportion of job vacancies, which is the fourth lowest indicator among the EU member states.

 

Meanwhile, the largest proportion of job vacancies was registered in Germany – 2.8%, Belgium – 2.4%, and Great Britain – 2.3%.
