Latvia registers EU's 6th largest reduction in industrial production output in July

Industrial production in Latvia in July 2014, as compared to the respective period in 2013, decreased by 1.5%, which was the sixth largest decline among all European Union (EU) member states, the EU's statistical office Eurostat said on Friday, informs LETA.

Denmark saw the largest year-on-year decline in industrial production output in July – by 6.4%, followed by Sweden – by 5%, Finland – by 2.7%, and Greece – by 2.3%.

 

The steepest increase in industrial production in July, was registered in Ireland – a 17.6% increase, Hungary had a 12.3% increase, Slovenia – 9.2% increase.

 

Industrial production amount in Estonia increased by 2.3%, but in Lithuania – also by 2.3%.

 

Industrial production output in all EU countries for which data are available increased two% year-on-year, whereas in eurozone countries it increased by 2.2%.

 

Meanwhile, industrial production output in the EU and eurozone in July, as compared to June, registered an increase of 0.7% and one% respectively.

 

The largest increase, as compared to the previous month, was registered in Ireland – a 11.3% increase, in Estonia – a 2.8% increase, and in Slovenia – a 2.3% increase.

 

The largest decline was registered in Denmark – a 4.7% decline, in Malta – a 4.2% decline, in Greece – a 1.7% decline.

 

Industrial production output in Latvia increased by 1.4% from June, but Lithuania saw a 1.5% increase.
