Turnover of Lithuanian retail trade enterprises down by 3 % in June

Statistics Lithuania informs that, based on provisional data, in June 2014, the turnover (VAT excluded) of retail trade enterprises amounted to LTL 2508.7 million (EUR 726.6 million); against May, it decreased by 3 %at constant prices (seasonally adjusted - decreased by 0.4%), informs ELTA/LETA.

Over the month, the turnover of enterprises trading in food products decreased by 3%, of those engaged in retail trade in automotive fuels - 1.1%, of those engaged in trading in non-food products - 4 % at constant prices. The largest decrease in turnover was observed in retail sale of footwear and leather products (19.5%), flowers, plants, seeds, fertilisers (17.6%) in specialised stores.


In June 2014, against June 2013, the turnover (VAT excluded) of retail trade enterprises increased by 3.4 % at constant prices (working day adjusted - increased by 2.4%). The turnover of enterprises trading in food products decreased by 1.5%, of those engaged in retail trade in automotive fuels - increased by 3.1%, of those engaged in retail trade in non-food products - increased by 9.7 %at constant prices. The largest increase in turnover was observed in retail sale of furniture, lighting equipment and other household articles (52.6%), audio and video equipment (41.8%) in specialised stores, and retail sale via mail order houses or via the Internet (35.4%).


In June 2014, the turnover (VAT excluded) of food and beverage service enterprises amounted to LTL 135.8 million (EUR 39.3 million) and, against May, decreased by 3%at constant prices. Compared to June 2013, the turnover of enterprises engaged in the said activities grew by 7.2 %at constant prices.
