Estonia's death rate slightly lower than birth rate in June

According to the data of the population facts department of the Estonian Ministry of Internal Affairs, 1,224 births and 1,201 deaths were registered in June 2014 in Estonia, informs LETA.

630 of the newborns were boys and 594 girls. 12 pairs of twins were born.

 

The most popular boys’ names in May were Robert (14 kids), Oskar (11), Artjom, Rasmus, Robin, Sebastian (9 kids each), Maksim, Mark, Oliver (8), Kristjan, Martin (7). The most occurring girls’ names were Sofia (15), Liisa (8), Darja, Lisandra, Mia (7), Grete, Maria, Marie (6), Aleksandra, Anastassia, Eliise, Emma, Lenna, Marleen, Melissa (5).

 

695 marriages were concluded and 208 divorces were registered in vital statistics offices.


In June 2013, 1,096 births, 1,061 deaths, 694 marriages and 173 divorces were registered.
