Latvia's GDP per capita – 4th lowest in EU

The gross domestic product (GDP) per capita expressed in terms of purchasing power standards in Latvia was 67% of the average GDP per capita in the European Union last year, or the fourth lowest in the EU, according to the EU statistical office Eurostat data released yesterday, cites LETA.

Bulgaria registered the lowest GDP per capita in the EU last year – 47% of the EU average, Romania – 54% of the EU average, while Croatia – 61%.

 

Lithuania had the sixth lowest GDP per capita in the EU in 2013 – 74% of the EU average, while Estonia had the fifth lowest – 72% of the EU average.

 

Luxembourg had the highest GDP per capita in the EU in 2013 – 264% of the EU average, followed by Austria – 129% of the EU average, and the Netherlands and Sweden – each 127% of the EU average.
