In April producer prices in Latvian industry didn’t change significantly

The producer prices of products sold on the domestic market rose by 1.1%, whereas prices of exported products reduced by 0.9%. The most significant price growth was recorded in manufacture of wood and products of wood, except furniture (by 1.2%), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 0.5%) and manufacture of food products (by 0.4%). Price fall in manufacture of basic metals (by 3.2%) and manufacture of wearing apparel (by 5.1%) had the greatest downward impact on the producer prices.
In April this year, compared to April of previous year, the overall level of producer prices in Latvian industry grew by 1.4%. The rise in prices of products sold on the domestic market was 1.4%, but prices of exported products rose by 1.5%. The most notable price increase was observed in manufacture of food products (by 3.4%) and in manufacture of wood and products of wood, except furniture (by 2.0%). Reduction of prices in manufacture of basic metals (by 7.7%) and waste collection, treatment and disposal activities; materials recovery (by 7.2%) had the biggest downward impact on the producer prices.
