In November 2008 monthly inflation in Lithuania to reach 0.2% and annual inflation to stand at 9.7%

In November 2008, the Lithuanian Department of Statistics forecasts lesser harmonized monthly inflation than that in October 2008, and says that Lithuania will have one-digit annual inflation at last.

According to the forecast of the Lithuanian Department of Statistics, monthly inflation (November 2008 compared to October) calculated according to the harmonized consumer price index (HCPI) will reach 0.2%, annual inflation (November 2008 compared to the same month in 2007) will stand at 9.7% and average annual inflation will equal 11.1%.

 

In October, monthly inflation (October 2008 compared to September) calculated according to the consumer price index (CPI) stood at 0.9% and exceeded the inflation index calculated according to consumer price index by 0.1 percentage point. Annual inflation calculated according to HCPI totaled 10.7% and average annual inflation reached 11%. Annual inflation and average annual inflation exceeded inflation indexes calculated according to consumer price index by 0.2 percentage point.
