Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Poland says that in the first half of 2012 Poland's export to Lithuania exceeded EUR 1 billion. The export growth rate is 14.5% year-on-year.

Trade and Investment Promotion Section of the Embassy of Poland estimated that one Lithuanian resident purchased Polish goods and services for LTL 1,095 (EUR 317,1) per person in H1, 2012, reports LETA/ELTA.

Lithuania ranks third on this index among Polish trade partners in the European Union (EU), after Luxembourg and the Czech Republic.

Poland's export to Lithuania grew by EUR 129 million this year. Lithuania was at the second place on this index in the EU. The greater Poland's export volume was only recorded in trade with the Great Britain.

Polish Embassy official Geoffrey Szymanski says that Poland is the second largest foreign investor in Lithuania after Sweden.

"I would like to point out that Polish export to Lithuania is three times higher than into vast Canada, five times higher than into Kazakhstan and only by 30% lower than into the US," says Szymanski.
