Producer prices in the Latvian industry in July increased by 2.1% y-o-y

The prices of products sold on the domestic market rose by 0.7%, whereas prices of exported products went up by 0.2%. Price growth in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (of 2.4%), in the manufacture of wood and of products of wood, except furniture (of 1.2%) and in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (of 13.8%) had the most notable increasing impact on the overall level of producer prices. In its turn, price decrease in the manufacture of base metals (of 4.7%) and in the manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (of 1.8%) had the most significant lowering impact on the overall level of producer prices.
Compared to July 2011, the overall level of producer prices in the Latvian industry in July 2012 increased by 2.1%. The prices of goods sold on the domestic market grew by 3.3%, whereas prices of exported products rose by 0.5%. The most notable price growth was recorded in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (of 6.4%), in the manufacture of food products (of 2.1%), in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (of 24.8%) and in the manufacture of wood and of products of wood, except furniture (of 1.9%).
