Government supports allocating LVL 2 mln to employees involved in combating shadow economy

Today, the government of Latvia, within the framework of budget amendments for 2012, decided to allocate LVL 2 million to motivate state employees involved in combating shadow economy.

LVL 2 million constitutes four percent of the government's planned LVL 50 million tax revenue surplus, which can be considered as revenue from combating shadow economy, informs LETA.

 

The proposals for increasing subsidies to the State Revenue Service (in the amount of LVL 1.6 million), the State Police and the State Border Guard (LVL 320,000), the State Labor Inspectorate (LVL 40,000), the Food and Veterinary Service, the State Forest Service and the State Plant Protection Service (LVL 40,000) will be submitted to Saeima and reviewed during the parliament's second review of this year's budget amendments.
