Retail trade turnover in Lithuania grew by 2.2% in June y-o-y

Over the month,
the turnover of enterprises trading in food products grew by 0.7%, of those
trading in non-food products – dropped by 1.4%. The turnover of enterprises
engaging in retail trade in automotive fuel grew by 3.3% at constant
prices.
In June 2012, compared to June 2011, the turnover (VAT excluded) of enterprises engaged in retail trade, except for the wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, grew by 4.9% at constant prices (working day adjusted – by 3.1%).
Over the year, the
turnover of enterprises trading in food products increased by 2.2%, of those
trading in non-food products – by 12.1%, while the turnover of enterprises
engaging in retail trade in automotive fuel decreased by 2.8% at constant
prices.
Over the said period, the most noticeable increase in turnover was observed for retail sale via mail order houses or via the Internet (by 53%), specialised stores trading in electrical household appliances (25.8%) and second-hand goods (24.3%).
Over the month, the turnover of enterprises engaging in the wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles dropped by 6.5%
In June 2012, the turnover of enterprises engaged in the wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles amounted to LTL 640.9 million and, compared to May, dropped by 6.5% at constant prices. Compared to June 2011, their turnover dropped by 7.5% at constant prices.
Over the month, the turnover of food and beverage service enterprises dropped by 3.9%
In June 2012, the turnover (VAT excluded) of food and beverage service enterprises amounted to LTL 87.8 million and, compared to May, dropped by 3.9% at constant prices. Compared to June 2011, their turnover grew by 10.1% at constant prices.
