Minimum monthly subsistence level increases to LVL 176.26 in May

Print versionIn May, the minimum monthly subsistence level slightly increased and amounted to LVL 176.63, which is 0.27% more than in April, when it reached LVL 175.78, according to the Central Statistical Bureau's data.

In May 2011, the minimum monthly subsistence level was LVL 176.11.
In January of this year, the minimum monthly subsistence level was LVL 173.47, in February – LVL 173.38, but in March – LVL 174.4, writes LETA.
The content of the complete minimum consumer basket of goods and services was approved by the Council of Ministers on April 8, 1991. The minimum consumer basket does not include alcoholic beverages, tobacco and luxury items.
The value of the minimum consumer basket of goods and services is calculated monthly per one resident in Latvia by the Central Statistical Bureau.
