Unit value in Latvia increased by 3.1% for exported goods and by 8.2% for imported goods in Q1

Compared to the 1st quarter of 2011, the unit value (UV) in the 1st quarter of 2012 increased by 3.1% for exported goods and by 8.2% for imported goods. In its turn, in comparison with the previous quarter, the UV of exported goods grew by 2.2%, whereas the UV of imported goods rose by 5.0%.

Compared to the previous quarter, the average level of export unit value in the 1st quarter of 2012 was mostly promoted by the increase in the UV of vegetable products and mineral products, as well as of base metals and articles of base metal.


The increase in the UV of mineral products, of mechanical appliances and electrical equipment, as well as of transport vehicles and parts thereof had the greatest impact on the average level of import unit value in the 1st quarter of 2012, if compared to the 4th quarter of 2011.
