Estonia posts EU's second highest annual inflation in April

Annual inflation in Latvia this past April was 2.8%, which was the 11th lowest inflation recorded across the European Union member states, according to latest data from the EU statistical office Eurostat. Inflation in Estonia made 4.2%

Hungary had the EU's highest inflation in April, 5.6%. Inflation in Estonia was 4.2%, 4% in the Czech Republic, 4% in Poland, and 3.8% in Malta.

 

The EU's lowest annual inflation in April was recorded in Sweden, 1%, followed by Greece – 1.5%, Ireland and Romania – 1.9% each, and Spain – 2%.

 

Compared to March, the annual inflation level in April reduced in 16 member states and increased in ten.

 

The average inflation in the EU was 2.7% in April, compared to 2.9% in March. Annual inflation in the eurozone was 2.6% in April, down from 2.7% in March.

 

Compared to March, consumer prices in the EU increased 0.5% in April, whereas the euro area also registered a 0.5% increase.

 

Consumer prices in Latvia increased 0.7% from March, while Lithuania saw a 0.6% increase and Estonia a 0.4% increase.
