57,681 persons in Latvia are named Janis, and 20,962 of them are shareholders or board members in various companies, according to the Registry of Enterprises Lursoft and the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs.

9,571 Janis' are shareholders in Latvian companies, while 11,391 – board members.
On the other hand, the number of persons named Liga in Latvian companies is significantly smaller, informs LETA.
10,510 Ligas hold shares in Latvian companies, 715 – are part of their management.
At the moment, there are four active companies in Latvia that have "cheese" in their name, 36 companies and organizations with "beer", two – with "bonfire", 58 – with "Ligo!", 68 – with "oak", 109 – with "Janis" and 88 with "Liga".
According to the Latvian calendar-designated "name days", Janis Day is June 23, Liga Day – June 24.
