Construction input prices in Lithuania dropped by 3.9% in June y-o-y

Statistics Lithuania informs that construction input prices in June 2010, compared to May, grew by 0.4%. Over the year (June 2010, compared to June 2009), construction input prices dropped by 3.9%.

In June 2010, compared to May, the overall change in construction input prices was mostly influenced by a 1.3% increase in wages and salaries and overheads. It was also influenced by a 0.1% decrease in hourly labour costs of the operation of construction machines and mechanisms. Prices for building materials and products in June remained almost unchanged.

 

The change in prices for building materials and products was mostly influenced by a 1.2% increase in prices for metallic articles, 0.5% – windows and doors, as well as by a 1.3% decrease in prices for plumbing materials, 0.5% – basic building materials, 0.4% – various kinds of concrete and mortar.

 

Over the year (June 2010, compared to June 2009), construction input prices dropped by 3.9%. The annual price drop was conditioned by a decrease, over twelve months, in prices for building materials and products (by 3.8%) and wages and salaries and overheads (by 4.1%).
