Lithuanian companies are investing more money in modern communication technologies that will increase their availability. Every tenth enterprise in Lithuania provides information about itself on social networking sites, the Trend Report conducted by TeliaSonera, the largest telecommunications company in the Nordic and Baltic countries, shows.

According to the survey, 9.7% of companies in Lithuania provide information through Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites. Another 7% of firms intend to pay considerable attention to this kind of communication this year. Almost 14% of Lithuanian companies have already implemented possibilities on their websites for direct communication with customers, and 9% are planning to do that by the end of 2010, informs LETA/ELTA.

According to the survey conducted in October 2009, 12.9% of Lithuanian companies publish on their websites blogs written by one of their executives. Another 8.5% intend to start using this means of communication in 2010. However, e-mail still remains the most popular means of communicating with customers – it is currently used by 69.2% of the surveyed companies.

In 2010, the telecommunications company TEO entered Facebook, the most popular social networking site in Lithuania, by presenting the group of GALA digital TV fans – GALA TV Guru.

According to Nerijus Ivanauskas, Chief Marketing Officer of TEO, soon after its launch, GALA TV Guru has become one of the most popular groups in the telecommunications field on this social networking site.
