External assets of the Bank of Lithuania increased up to LTL 16.1 billion in April 2008

Print versionIn April 2008, as a result of transactions, external assets of the Bank of Lithuania increased by LTL 658.5 million up to LTL 16.1 billion at the end of the month, while external liabilities went up by LTL 84.8 million to LTL 232.0 million, the Bank announced.
In April 2008, currency in circulation surged by LTL 368.0 million to LTL 9.1 billion at the end of the month.
Resident deposits with the Bank of Lithuania increased by LTL 331.5 million over the month, as a result of transactions, to form LTL 5.8 billion at the end of the month. Central government deposits increased by LTL 61.0 million as a result of transactions up to LTL 2.6 billion at the end of April, while deposits of other MFIs (monetary financial institutions) as a result of transactions increased by LTL 262.3 million to make up LTL 3.2 billion at the end of the month.
