In September, passenger turnover at Riga airport reduced, but the volume of cargo and post increased

According to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau, passenger turnover at Riga International Airport in September this year has dropped by 84.5 %, as compared to September 2019. In turn, for the first time since March, when the government implemented restrictions on air transport, the volume of cargo loaded and unloaded and post has increased by 6 % (1).

The total number of passenger arrivals and departures at Riga International Airport in September comprised 114 081 – 77.4 thousand less than in August this year.




In the first nine months of the year total number of passengers at Riga International Airport comprised 1.8 million and that is 69.6 % less than in the same period of the previous year. 16.0 tonnes of cargo were loaded and unloaded, which is a reduction of 19.3 %.
