Wage gap between Lithuanian regions narrows in Q2

Average gross monthly wages rose by 0.9% to 1,557 euros in the region of Vilnius and went up by 1.5% to 1,273 euros in the rest of Lithuania in the second quarter compared to the first quarter, the country's statistics office said on Thursday, cites LETA/BNS.
The wage gap between Lithuania's two statistical regions – the Capital region and the less economically developed Central and Western region – narrowed to 284 euros in the second quarter, from 288.7 euros a quarter ago.

All counties registered quarterly growth in average gross wages, except for Alytus County that posted a 0.9% decline.
Gross wages ranged from 1,111 euros in Taurage County to 1,557 euros in Vilnius County.
