Prices for refined petroleum products up by 5.1% in April 2008 in Lithuania
Print versionIn April 2008 against March, the general price change was mostly influenced by a 5.1% price rise for refined petroleum products, 4.1% – chemicals and chemical products, 0.9% – electricity, gas, steam and hot water, as well as by a 0.3% price drop for each food products and beverages, and machinery and equipment, 0.5% – motor vehicles, trailers and semi trailers.
Prices of products sold on the domestic market over a month increased by 0.9%. It was mostly influenced by a 3.8% price growth for refined petroleum products, 0.9% – electricity, gas, steam and hot water supply, 1.4% – non-metal mineral products, 1.7% – furniture, 1.9% – metal products, as well as by a 0.3% price drop for food products and beverages, 1.2% – rubber and plastic products, 2.2% – machinery and equipment. Among food products and beverages, the most noticeable price drop was recorded for milk and milk products (except ice-cream) – 3.6%, mineral water and soft drinks – 0.3%, bread and fresh confectionery – 0.1%; grain mill products went up in price by 4.7, animal feeding stuff – by 2.3, fish and fish products – by 1.0%. In the electricity, gas, steam and hot water supply group, gas went up in price by 3.6%. Refined petroleum products industry excluded, prices of products sold on the domestic market increased by 0.4%.
Prices of exported products in April 2008 against March increased by 3.1%. It was mostly influenced by a 5.6% price rise for refined petroleum products, 5.0% – chemicals and chemical products, 4.1% – rubber and plastic products. 2.9% – wood and wood products, as well as by a 0.3% price drop for food products and beverages, 2.4% – base metals, 0.6% – metal waste and scrap, 0.1% – furniture. Refined petroleum products industry excluded, prices of exported products increased by 1.6%.
