17% work from home several days a month, representatives of Bonava Latvija dwelling house developer told LETA, citing a survey of employees, reports LETA.

Meanwhile, 8% of respondents in the poll said they chose to work from home only in the event of illness, and 27% said their job could not be done from home.

The survey shows that when working from home, 54% of respondents appreciated the opportunity to combine work with their daily chores at home, 42% said staying home allowed them to work undisturbed by themselves, and 24% said it was easier to concentrate at home.

When asked about disadvantages of working from home, nearly one in three respondents said they missed direct contact with colleagues or superiors when they needed assistance or advice, and 22% said that when working from home they did not have access to necessary things like documents, notes, work emails or computers.

“Although we often believe that working from home is preferred by younger people, the survey reveals that not only young people but also employees aged over 35 are starting to work from home. Furthermore, people use not only their home environment for work but also other inspiring places like cafes, collective workplaces or outdoors,” said Bonava Latvija representative Madara Jerosceva.

The survey was conducted by Norstar Latvija, interviewing 1,026 respondents.
