BC, Riga, 04.12.2017.Print version
In the third quarter of 2017, the gross average monthly wages grew by more than 7% year-on-year in all three Baltic states, writes LETA, according to the information from the national statistics offices of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania.
In Latvia, the gross average monthly wage in the first nine months of this
year was EUR 925, growing 7.5% against the same period in 2016. In Estonia, the
gross average monthly wage rose 7.4% from the nine-month period last year to
EUR 1,201 in January-September this year, while Lithuania reported a 7.2%
increase of the gross average monthly wage to EUR 851.
Compared to the second quarter of 2017, the gross average monthly wage in
the third quarter this year fell in Latvia and Estonia – by 0.1% and 3.3%
respectively, while Lithuania showed a 1.4% increase. The Estonian statistics
office said that the wage reduction quarter-on-quarter was mostly due to a
decrease in irregular bonuses.
