Latvia shows Europe's 4th fastest drop in new commercial auto registration in January

During the first ten months of 2017, Latvia showed the fourth fastest drop in the registration of new commercial transport vehicles (trucks and buses) in Europe, informs LETA, according to the latest data released today by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).

In January-October 2017, registration of new commercial vehicles in Latvia declined 3.8% year-on-year to 3,086 automobiles. Of the 30 European countries included in the ACEA survey, registration of new commercial transport vehicles fell at an even faster rate Ireland (-14.5%), the Czech Republic (-5.9%) and the UK (-3.9%).

 

Registration of new commercial autos also declined in Slovakia (-1.6%), as well as Denmark and Hungary (-3.4% in both countries).

 

Meanwhile, the steepest annual rise in the registration of new commercial vehicles in January-October was recorded in Bulgaria (+21.9%), followed by Slovenia (+21.3%) and Greece (+19%).

 

In Lithuania, the registration of new commercial vehicles increased 15.7% to 9,296 registrations in January-October 2017, and in Estonia the registration of new commercial vehicles climbed 10.1% year-on-year to 4,737 registrations in the first ten months of this year.

 

Across the 30 European countries covered by the ACEA survey, registration of new commercial autos picked up 4.1% year-on-year to 2,054,850 registrations in the first ten months of this year.

 

The ACEA report covers all EU counties except Malta, as well as Iceland, Norway and Switzerland.
