Latvia shows lower than EU average rise in new car registration in 9 months

In the first nine months of 2017, Latvia recorded the slower rise in new car registration than average in Europe, writes LETA, according to the latest data released today by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).
According to ACEA statistics on Latvia, 12,702 new passenger cars were
registered in January-September 2017, which is a 0.4% rise from the first nine
months of last year.
In the EU, new car registration rose 3.7% from the past year on average.
Across the 30 European countries covered by the ACEA survey, the biggest
growth in September was reported in Lithuania (+22.7%), followed by Croatia
(+21.3%), and Hungary (+19%). Estonia reported an 11.1% rise.
Three countries reported a drop in new car registration – Ireland (-10.2%),
the UK (-3.9%), and Finland (-0.6%).
The ACEA report covers all EU counties except Malta, as well as Iceland,
Norway and Switzerland.
