LDz Cargo was Latvia's largest transport company by turnover in 2016

LDz Cargo remans the leader of the transport industry’s Top-10 companies even though its turnover contracted 17.2% last year to EUR 275.526 million. Latvia’s national carrier airBaltic, which remained in second place, raised turnover by 6% last year to EUR 249.576 million.
Moller Baltic Import auto dealer managed to make it to the Top-3 with a turnover of EUR 215.571 million, leaving Latvijas Dzelzcels fourth with EUR 192.572 million. Last year, Moller Baltic Import saw its turnover grow 11.3%, while the rail company’s turnover fell 11.2%.
Rounding out the Top 5 transport companies was Kreiss with EUR 155.596 million in 2016 turnover, which rose by 18.6% year-on-year. Rigas Satiksme municipal transport company followed with EUR 154.068 million in turnover, down 0.3% from a year before.
Smartlynx Airlines came seventh with EUR 100.486 million in last year’s turnover, up 19.1%, followed by Skonto Metals stevedore with EUR 96.481 million, down 11.5%.
Two newcomers - PrimeraAir Nordic aviation company and Inter Cars Latvija auto parts wholesaler - rounded out the Top 10 with EUR 89.395 million and EUR 76.02 million in 2016 turnover respectively.
Baltijas Tranzita Serviss rail cargo carrier and LDz Ritosa Sastava Serviss, a subsidiary of Latvijas Dzelzcels, disappeared from the list of Latvia’s ten largest transport companies.
