Latvian FinMin raises GDP growth forecast to 3.7% in 2017

The Finance Ministry has raised Latvia's GDP growth forecast for the year 2017 to 3.7%, the ministry informs LETA.

In April, the ministry predicted that this year's GDP will grow 3.2%.

 

According to the ministry's latest forecast, Latvia's GDP in 2018 will grow 3.4%, but in 2019 and 2020 - by 3.2% each year.

 

The ministry also forecast that the average gross salary in Latvia in 2017 will be EUR 915, in 2018 - EUR 970, in 2019 - EUR 1,021, but in 2020 - EUR 1,072.

 

Meanwhile, the unemployment level is also expected to reduce gradually each year, from 8.9% this year, to 8.2% in 2018, 7.7% in 2019, and 7.2% in 2020.
