The volume of construction work remained unchanged at constant prices in Lithuania

Statistics Lithuania informs that in I quarter 2017, the volume of construction work carried out in the country amounted to EUR 361 mln at current prices, and against the previous period, seasonally and calendar adjusted, remained unchanged at constant prices (unadjusted – decreased by 50%).

Over a quarter, the volume of building construction increased by 0.9 %, that of construction of civil engineering structures – decreased by 1.5% (unadjusted – decreased by 39.2 and 65.9% respectively).


In I quarter 2017, against the respective period of the previous year, the volume of construction work carried out, calendar adjusted, increased by 7.1% (unadjusted – by 8.2%). Against the same period of the last year, volume of building construction increased by 11.2%, that of construction of civil engineering structures – decreased by 3% (unadjusted – increased by 11 and 1.3% respectively).


The share of construction of residential buildings accounted for 23% of total construction work carried out in the country (EUR 84.4 mln), that of construction of non-residential buildings – 49% (EUR 177.2 mln), that of construction of civil engineering structures – 28% (EUR 99 mln).

In I quarter 2017, the volume of construction work carried out abroad amounted to EUR 49.1 mln. Against the previous period, seasonally and calendar adjusted, it decreased by 1.2% (unadjusted – 17.5%); against the respective period of the previous year, calendar adjusted, it decreased by 6.8% (unadjusted – 5.6%).


Comparative indicators are calculated at constant prices of 2010 applying a construction input price index.
