In January 2017, Latvian exports were worth EUR 809 mln. Meanwhile, Lithuania exported EUR 1.865 bln worth of goods and Estonian exports came to EUR 937 mln in January.

During the first month of this year, 77% of Latvian exports, 64% of Lithuanian exports and 74% of Estonian exports went to EU member states.

In January of this year, Latvia shipped 17% of its export goods to Lithuania and 11% to Estonia, while Lithuania shipped 9% of its export goods to Latvia and 6% to Estonia. Meanwhile, Estonia shipped 9% of its export goods to Latvia and 6% to Lithuania.

Latvian imports came to EUR 984 mln in January, while Lithuania imported EUR 2.079 bln worth of goods and Estonian imports totaled EUR 1.367 bln.

Imports from EU member states made up 73% of Latvian imports, 64% of Lithuanian imports and 82% of Estonian imports.

In January 2017, Latvia received 17% of its imports from Lithuania, while imports from Estonia accounted for 8%. Lithuania received 8% of its total imports from Latvia and 3% from Estonia, and Estonia received 6% of its imports from Latvia and 10% from Lithuania.

All three Baltic states showed negative foreign trade balances in January, with Estonia reporting a trade gap of EUR 430.3 mln. Latvia had a trade deficit of EUR 175.4 mln, and Lithuania showed a trade gap of EUR 214.1 mln.
