Lithuania's jobless rate edges up 0.2 pts m-o-m to 8.7%

Print versionLithuania's unemployment rate stood at 8.7 percent in early February, up by 0.2 percentage points compared with a month ago, but down by 0.7 points year-on-year, according to figures from the country's Labor Exchange.

There were 155,200 registered unemployed people in the country on Feb. 1, up by 3,200 people, or 2.1%, from early January, but down by 14,200, or 8.4%, from a year ago.
The number of long-term unemployed persons fell by 13.4% over the year to 39,800 persons, which accounted for 25.6% of all jobless people.
