Latvia imports gasoline and diesel fuel mainly from Lithuania in ten months
In the first ten months of 2016, Latvia imported 162.66 mln
liters of gasoline from Lithuania, accounting for 62.1% of all gasoline imports
during the period (66.2% in January-October 2015), and 93.425 mln liters of
gasoline or 35.7% from Finland. Gasoline imports from Lithuania dropped 7.5% y-o-y,
while gasoline imports from Finland increased 11.1% compared to January-October
2015.
Lithuania also supplied Latvia with 590,808 tons of diesel
fuel in the first ten months of this year, representing 48.1% of total diesel
fuel imports during the period (42% in January-October 2015). Diesel fuel imports
from Lithuania decreased 0.3% y-o-y.
Finland supplied 31% or 380,887 tons of diesel fuel imported
to Latvia in the first ten months of this year, which was a 21.9% decrease from
January-October 2015, Russia supplied 14.4% or 176,451 tons of diesel fuel, up
14.4% y-o-y, and 77,477 tons of diesel fuel or 6.3 % were imported from
Belarus, which was 2.3 times less than a year ago.
In the first ten months of this year Latvia imported fuel
oil mostly from Estonia, which supplied 93.7% of all fuel oil imports during
the period. The amount of fuel oil imported from Estonia was 1,424 tons at a
72.6% rise from January-October 2015.
In January-October 2016, Latvia imported 261.845 mln liters
of gasoline, 1.228 mln tons of diesel fuel and 1,520 tons of fuel oil.
