In October, manufacturing production rose 2% compared to October 2015. In October, production surpassed the volume of the previous year in half of the branches of industry. The growth in production was mostly due to an increase in the manufacture of electronic products, electrical equipment and wood products. Production rose also in the manufacture of building materials and metal products. Production fell in the manufacture of furniture and motor vehicles.

In October, 69% of the whole production of manufacturing was sold on the external market. According to unadjusted data, the export sales of manufacturing production as well as domestic sales fell 1% compared to October 2015.

In October 2016 compared to the previous month, the seasonally adjusted total industrial production decreased 1%, with production in manufacturing remaining on the level of the previous month.
