Lithuania's Jan-Jul natl budget revenue EUR 181 mln above target

BC, Vilnius, 12.08.2016.Print version
Lithuania's central government and local governments collected a total of 4.44 billion euros in budget revenue in January through July, exceeding the revenue target for the seven months by 181 mln euros, or 4.3%, according to the Finance Ministry information reports LETA/BNS.

"The tendency is good, we expect to keep it at the same level until the end of the year, as a bigger budget means that above-target revenue will reduce the budget and the share of borrowed money needed to cover it,"  remarks Finance Minister Rasa Budbergyte.

The central government's total budget revenue for the period amounted to 3.585 bln euros, some 113 mln euros, or 3.3%, above the target.

Excise tax revenue came in 3.1% above the target and totaled 666.9 mln euros during the seven months. Revenue from the corporate income tax, at 407.2 mln euros, exceeded the estimate by 19.8%, while revenue from value-added tax brought 1.819 billion euros into the state's coffers, which is 0.9 % below target.

The personal income tax generated 859.1 mln euros in budget revenue for the central government and local governments, some 3.7% more than planned.

This year's central government budget projects 5.945 bln euros in annual revenue not including EU funds and 8.046 bln euros including EU funds.
