The producer price index of Estonian industrial output decreased by 1.8% in May y-o-y

According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2016, the producer price index of industrial output changed by –0.2% compared to April 2016 and by –1.8% compared to May 2015.

In May, compared to the previous month, the producer price index was more than average influenced by a decrease in prices in the manufacture of electronic equipment and wood products, but also by an increase in prices in the manufacture of fuel oils and food products.

 

Compared to May 2015, the producer price index was more than average influenced by a decrease in prices in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply and in the manufacture of fuel oils and chemicals and chemical products, but also by an increase in prices in the manufacture of electronic equipment and in mining and quarrying.

In May 2016, the export price index changed by 0.1% compared to April 2016 and by –3.0% compared to May 2015.

 

In May, compared to the previous month, the prices of oil products, peat products and building materials increased more than average, while the prices of electricity, plastic products and electronic equipment decreased more than average.

 

In May 2016, the import price index changed by 0.9% compared to April 2016 and by –5.1% compared to May 2015.

 

In May, compared to the previous month, the prices of oil products, chemical products and metals increased more than average, while the prices of agricultural products, electricity and leather products decreased more than average.
