Lithuania's per capita cigarette consumption made 55 packs in 2015, alcohol – 12.1 liters

Annual per capita consumption of legal cigarettes in Lithuania rose to 55 packs in 2015, from 50 packs in 2014, figures from Statistics Lithuania showed on June 10th. The consumption of alcohol in Lithuanian edged down to 12 liters of legal absolute alcohol, writes LETA/BNS.

Consumption per person aged 15 years and over also increased by five packs, to 64 packs, the statistics office said.

 

Lithuania's cigarette production grew by 33.6% in 2015 compared with 2014. Cigarette exports soared by 50.9%, but imports declined by 2.5%.

 

Tobacco product sales, at current prices, rose by 14% to 447.3 million euros.

 

The average per capita consumption of alcohol in Lithuanian last year edged down to 12 liters of legal absolute alcohol, from 12.1 liters in 2014.

 

Alcohol consumption per person aged 15 years and over shrank by 0.2 liters to 14 liters, the statistics office said.

 

In 2015, the country's retailers and food services providers sold 3.6 million decaliters of spirits (vodka, whiskey, brandy, etc.), down by 1.9% year-on-year. Sales of wine and fermented beverages totaled 5.8 million decaliters (down 13.8%) and beer sales dropped by 3.6% to 36.8 million decaliters last year from 2014.
