BC, Vilnius, 16.05.2016.Print version
The monthly inflation in Lithuania will be 0.3% in May 2015, as compared month-on-month, Statistics Lithuania said on Monday, cites LETA/BNS.

In May, the harmonized annual inflation should stand at 0.5%, while the average annual inflation should be zero.

According to the statistics agency, the May inflation may be boosted by the prices of clothing and footwear, as the group features a high degree of seasonality in connection to new collections. Prices for goods and services for food and non-alcoholic beverages, housing, water, electricity, gas and other types of fuel may decrease.

Prices for other groups of goods and services may slightly increase and have an impact on the overall price dynamics, said Statistics Lithuania.

In April, the annual monthly inflation rate, as measured by the EU Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), stood at 0.7%, the annual inflation was 0.8% and the average annual deflation was 0.1%.
