In Estonia, 50 government program tasks out of 621 fulfilled

Of the 621 tasks set out in the action program of the three-party coalition government in Estonia that took office after the elections of March 2015, 50 had been fulfilled and 554 were either being fulfilled or had been fulfilled partially by May 4th, informs LETA/BNS.

The government on Thursday made updates to its action program. The program of action of the government is reviewed once every year together with the government's other strategic documents: the competitiveness plan "Estonia 2020," the fiscal strategy and the stability program.

 

As the most important tasks of the government's action program, spokespeople for the government highlighted endorsement of the Administrative Reform Act and passing it on to the Riigikogu, raising defense spending to 2.07% of GDP and starting the construction of the external border.

 

Other important goals include lowering of labor taxes and raising the tax exempt income, raising the average wage of teachers, raising the allowance for families with three or more children and of the subsistence minimum, introducing an additionally allowance for pensioners living alone, developing an alimony support scheme and cutting the number of employees of the central government along with administration costs.
