In Q1, GDP in Latvia dropped by 0.1%

Flash estimate of the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) shows that, compared to the 4th quarter of 2015, in the 1st quarter of 2016, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) value dropped slightly – by 0.1%, according to seasonally adjusted data.

Compared to the corresponding period of 2015, in the 1st quarter of 2016, seasonally adjusted GDP grew by 1.3%, while seasonally non-adjusted GDP – by 1.8%.

 

The GDP changes were affected by the value growth of 2.3% in trade sector, of 0.5% in manufacturing, of 2.9% – in transportation and storage, and reduction of 22% in construction sector.
