Estonian capital registers positive natural growth also in 2015

The rate of natural increase of the population remained positive in Tallinn also in 2015 year, as 621 more people were born than died in the capital city during the year, reported LETA/BNS.

The vital records office of Tallinn registered 5,249 births and 4,628 deaths during 2015, spokespeople for the city said on Tuesday.


The rate of natural increase of the population of Tallinn has been positive for several years, with 5,054 births and 4,718 deaths registered in 2014, 4,937 births and 4,554 deaths in 2013, 4,968 births and 4,455 deaths in 2012, 5,218 births and 4,377 deaths in 2011, and 5,468 births and 4,597 deaths in 2010.


During the past year the population of Tallinn grew by 5,091 and according to the population register 439,517 people lived in the city on the first day of 2016.
