Lithuania posts EU's biggest export decline for January-October

Lithuania posted the EU's largest annual decline in exports for the ten months through October 2015, data from Eurostat showed on December 2015, cites LETA/BNS.

This is the eighth month in a row that Eurostat figures show Lithuania recording the biggest year-on-year fall in exports among the EU's member states.

 

Lithuania's exports fell by an annual 6% to 19.1 billion euros in the ten months.

 

Annual declines were also recorded in Finland, Greece, Latvia and Estonia.

 

Latvian exports shrank by 1% to 9 billion euros while Estonian exports fell by 4% to 9.7 billion euros.

 

Lithuania's imports for the ten months shrank by an annual 2% to 21.3 billion euros. Latvia's imports also fell by 2% to 10.8 billion euros and Estonia's imports were down by 5% to 10.9 billion euros.

 

Lithuania and Latvia registered the biggest trade deficits among the three Baltic countries, at 2.2 billion euros. Estonia recorded a deficit of 1.6 billion euros.
