Registered unemployment level in Latvia remains at 8.3% in October

Print versionThe registered unemployment level in Latvia remained at 8.3% of the economically active population of Latvia at the end of October 2015, reports LETA, according to the State Employment Agency.

When compared with the end of September, the registered unemployment level remained the same. In August, the registered unemployment level was 8.5%, but in the previous three months – 8.6%.
At the beginning of October, 78,557 persons were registered as unemployed with the Employment Agency, whereas at the end of October there were 78,052 unemployed.
Riga Region had the lowest unemployment level of 5.2%, while Latgale province the highest – 18.1%. Unemployment level in Kurzeme is 10.2%, 9% in Vidzeme and 7.9% in Zemgale.
Among the cities, Riga had the lowest unemployment of 5%, Jurmala – 5.5%, Valmiera – 5.9%, Jelgava – 6.9%, Ventspils – 7.4%, Jekabpils – 9.4%, Daugavpils – 10.6%, Liepaja – 11.3%, Rezekne – 15.6%.
